Settling in to Whidbey / Virtual Tour of our new area...

I have to admit, i love Whidbey Island! Jesse, Hank, Duke and I have been busy unpacking, organizing, and squeezing ourselves and belongings into our two bed, 1 1/2 bath duplex.  Not too terrible of a space for our size family, but not so great with Jesse working from home. :) we'll figure it out. this place is temporary, after all.
Out of all the south side windows of our home you'll get a beautiful view of the water. and we are literally right up the street from the ferry dock that comes in from Mukilteo, the city that is 15 min. across the water on the "mainland."
One of the main reasons i love this place so much is almost everything i need is, not only within walking distance from me, but less than a block away: a small grocery store, library, huge park, thrift store, hair salon, post office, restaurant/pub, and church! not to mention the beach. our back yard is huge and full of worms, snails and pine cones, aka Hank's treasures. we joined the local gym, and signed Hank up for swim lessons which he started, and loved, today. I also was invited to a mom's group already!

Within 4 miles of us is another very cute, larger beach town, Langely, that we love to drive to with great restaurants and cute shops, as well as the beach. Overall, the people here are so friendly, it's definitely a small town feel, and i hardly ever see the cops! ...is this a good or bad thing? depends on the person i suppose. i like that people mind their own business here and are so laid back.

Finally, here are some pictures of our home, our neighborhood, and some places we like to frequent:

Hey Shari and Jesse, long time no talk. Its so wierd to see you guys on whidbey. I am glad you like it there, it really is an awesome place. Hillary and I will be there in June, fully moved in, but I am there every day working now. If you guys have any questions at all, let me know. Have you made up to Freeland yet? Its not much farther north from the goose with a much better grocery store i used to work in called payless. Dont let the name fool you because you will defenitely pay more, however it is a really nice store. Anyways, we hope to see you guys soon and don't hesitate to call.
